Things To Make and Do

January 02, 2004

....blah blah blah blah...

...so it's been some months, and I'm not going to bother filling in the missing time and what I've been filling it with, because mostly it's been work.

Since my schedule has settled a little I think I can actually begin posting again (no, really, I mean it this time).

The big news of the last couple of months is that Jen and I got a new car, then it got crumpled in North Carolina...and now, to begin the new year, we've finally replaced it.

Our New Year celebration happened in a gas station in Greenville, SC, where the nice staff put on a fireworks display. We waited till they had concluded with the explosions before refuelling.

The sports also will probably get updated...football season is over, the Bulldogs beat Purdue in a bowl game of some kind yesterday, blowing a 24-0 lead before finally winning 34-27 in OT.

Michael Vick came back a month before the end of the Falcons season and helped the (10-2) dirty birds to win three of the last four. Dan Reeves (former Giants and Broncos coach) was fired with a couple of weeks left and Arthur Blank, Falcons owner put the task of finding a replacement into the hands of newly hired GM, Rich McKay - formerly of Superbowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Georgia Tech, on the other hand, are ranked 4th in the country for NCAA Basketball and have a historic best staryt to the season for them with a 13-0 record. Which is much, much better than the pro team are doing - the Hawks are 9-24.

And despite an car wreck with EA Sports cursed coverguy Dany Heatley which broke last year's NHL Young PLayer of the Season's ankle and killed his team mate Dan Snyder, the Thrashers are doing well enough - leading the South Eastern Conference with a 19-16-3-2 (W-L-T-OTL).

So you're up to date with the sports, and te car situation. Next time I'll have something more than that to report, but I wouldn't be holding my breath if I were you...
